I arrived to New York almost 2 weeks ago. A place that has been in my mind and heart for many months, and even years. The past months have been all about planning a move, and making the move. The removal of our lives back home, the crossing out of the unnecessary and the necessary, the depletion of space, and what felt like a silent whirling in space – slowly, anticipating the moment of arriving at the end of a spiraling circle.
We moved to NYC for my husband’s MBA semester exchange at Columbia. A dream for him and a dreamy new reality for me, where I get to not work but freely explore, follow my curiosities, those silent creative whispers, making space for all the things that give that sense of aliveness. Creating that beautiful inner world – where living becomes an inspirational classroom.
The past few weeks have only been orientation, an adjustment to my new life, and during this adjustment, the idea of a blog sort of felt necessary – a place where I get to make notes, form meanings and connect my senses, and maybe go beyond the original five.
Pen and paper in hand. Mind no longer whirling. Heart open. I am surrendering to the wisdom of this great city.
